AYSO Extra™ Soccer League is an inter-regional gaming circuit for participating AYSO Extra™ program teams. 

AYSO Extra™ is a competitive soccer program designed to provide a more challenging level of play for those players who possess the appropriate interest, skills and abilities necessary to compete at a higher level. AYSO's sixth philosophy, Player Development is a primary focus of the AYSO Extra™ program. These teams are formed through a tryout process.

Positive Coaching - Certified, experienced and knowledgeable coaches who are positive, instructive and encouraging with the players.
Trained Quality Referees - Game Officials who are mindful of player safety and who referee for the love of the game and not a paycheck.

Families in the EXTRA program volunteer just as they do in the regular Core program and "give back" to the Core program in a variety of ways including refereeing games, helping at registration, and providing tactical knowledge to Core program coaches.

EXTRA COACH ELIGIBILITY

Benefits of Coaching an AYSO Extra Team:

1.   Professional Trainers and Player Development: Each Extra team’s registration fees include access to professional trainers during the regular season to help our players develop technical skills, tactical abilities and fitness levels that set a clear path toward achieving realistic goals and realizing potential, while having fun and learning the game of soccer. (Further information regarding professional trainers will be provided on a later date)

2.   Year-Round Play:  Coach your Extra team throughout the calendar year.  In addition to competing in the Fall season, Extra teams will continue training / competing in Spring season and summer tournaments as desired.

3.    Coach Mentoring:  Extra Coaches have access to coordinate practice-session plans with Professional Trainers.

4.    Everyone Plays:  All players are guaranteed to play 1/2 of the game.

5.    Positive Coaching:  All coaches must be certified and experienced, as well as positive, instructive and encouraging with the players.

6.    Well-Trained, Quality Referees:  Referee teams are mindful of player safety and love of the game.

7.    Committed Players: Players are selected through a tryout process to ensure that the skill and level of commitment is at a competitive level.

REQUIRED COACHING CERTIFICATIONS: Clear Background check, Safe Haven, CDC Concussion, Division Specific Coaching Certification (one additional level) and Regional Referee Certification.
